I actually met Billy vicariously, through several mutual friends, long long before we had him on this front cover. Very early on, when I was putting the details of this magazine together, I had wanted him to be one of my front cover physicians, and I’m so glad we were able to make that happen. Dr. Lynn has been practicing medicine a long time here in Augusta. There have been countless times that I’ve been meeting with an advertising client or potential client, and they’ve seen this September issue and then went on to tell me some great story where Billy went above and beyond help take care of them. Of the biggest and most reoccurring themes I’d heard (and one of them was literally just two days ago) was that “Dr Lynn, treated us like people.” How great is that?! That makes me tear up. In day and age where the medical industry is filled with coding, billing and endless forms (not to mention fighting with insurance companies), patients often complain that they're not heard and that they get lost in the business aspect of the practice. In spite of the growing medical-world-chaos, Dr. Lynn has seemed to continue finding ways of ensuring the human connection with his patients. I’m grateful to have his story and legacy in this issue. I'm grateful to have him here with us in Augusta.
