I’m so excited to be introducing many of you to one of Augusta’s finest and most innovative, next-generation medical professionals!
Rafael (Rafi) Salazar, II, is no stranger to the medical industry. In fact, the summer before his senior year, he knew that he wanted to be in healthcare in some capacity...how the got into the physical therapy world...well, you’ll just have to read the article to find out those details.
Rafi is such a delight to be around. He has a mind which moves at lightning-fast speeds...so do your darnedest to keep up! He has in his short time in the healthcare world, started a company Rehab U, which assists practices with learning the essentials on how to deepen patient experience and learn how to market through those good and meaningful experiences. He has also taught at AU Health. Now, he is the proud and owner of his very own practice here in Augusta, targeting an underserved area in South Augusta.
We had a great time at the photoshoot at PrActice Rehabilitation and Wellness. His staff are accommodating, talented and very welcoming. As you can see from our pictures...they like to have fun. It’s so important to have a practice culture that reflects its very values and mission. In the article, Rafi laid out some great goals for their practice and one of them caught my attention, so I wanted to use it as the title piece for this issue: “Be the change we want to see in healthcare.”
All in all, I like Rafi. I like his beard. I like the way his hands move when he discusses something very meaningful and exciting to him. I like the way he includes others in his conversations. He is humble. He is mega-talented. He is a true blessing to our local medical community.
I hope you all enjoy this as much as I did putting it together!
